When an assistant gets her own assistant.

In an exclusive clip from "The Devil Wears Prada 2" that aired on "Good Morning America" Wednesday, Anne Hathaway returns as Andy Sachs, who is introduced to her new assistant, Jin Chao, played by Helen Shen, after stepping off an elevator with Nigel, played by Stanley Tucci.

Chao wastes no time explaining how she landed the role.

"I was an intern this morning, but when a desk opens up, the interns get a chance to interview," she tells Andy. "And guess what? Nobody wanted to work in your department because it's not actually fashion. So I just, like, got it. Isn't that cool?"

"Very," Andy replies.

"You don't want me?" Chao asks.

"What? I didn't say that," Andy responds.

"If you don't want me, you can interview someone else. That's totally fine. I did go to Yale. 3.86 GPA... And my ACT score was 36..." Chao continues.

"No, you seem great. I'm happy to have you," Andy says.

"Great," Chao replies. "Okay, great," Andy adds.

Hathaway stars alongside Meryl Streep, who reprises her role as Miranda Priestly, with Emily Blunt and Tucci also returning.

A trailer released earlier this month shows Andy rejoining Runway to help the magazine navigate a current scandal.

Directed by David Frankel and written by Aline Brosh McKenna, the film is produced by Wendy Finerman.

"The Devil Wears Prada 2" opens in theaters May 1.

20th Century Studios is owned by Disney, the parent company of ABC News and "Good Morning America."
