Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman return as the Owens sisters in 'Practical Magic 2' teaser

WATCH: What to expect in entertainment in 2026

The teaser trailer for "Practical Magic 2" arrived Monday, featuring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman reprising their roles as Sally and Gillian Owens, two sisters from a long line of witches trying to live normal lives despite a family curse.

In the teaser, audiences are transported back to the iconic Owens house, where it appears Sally (Bullock) and Gillian (Kidman) reside. Bullock is seen tending to the garden while Kidman appears to be working on a spell from a book.

Watch the teaser here.

"I'm sure you've heard of the Owens family," Sally says in the trailer. "The ones from Massachusetts. The ones their neighbors whisper are witches."

After a few idyllic shots of the home, the trailer cuts to a scene with Lee Pace speaking to Kidman's and Bullock's characters.

"You're the Owens sisters," he says.

"Yeah, everyone we love dies," Sally responds.

Gillian adds, "A really horrible death. But I mean, it's just -- it's not great for the Tinder bio."

The teaser then includes more clips of the film, as "Coconut" by Harry Nilsson -- a key song from the first film, when it was used during the "midnight margaritas" scene -- plays in the background.

A synopsis for the highly anticipated sequel states that Sally and Gillian return "to a world steeped in moonlit mischief and powerful ancestral magic."

"The Owens sisters must confront the dark curse that threatens to unravel their family once and for all in a must-see cinematic event of fun, magic and mayhem," the synopsis adds.

Also in the teaser are Joey King and Maisie Williams. Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest also return in the new film and appear in the trailer as eccentric Aunt Frances and Aunt Jet, respectively.

The first "Practical Magic" film charmed audiences in 1998 and was based on Alice Hoffman's 1995 bestselling novel of the same name.

The film followed Gillian and Sally, two witch sisters born into a magical family and raised by their aunts in a small town.

When Gillian's boyfriend dies unexpectedly, the sisters "give themselves a crash course in hard magic" and try to resurrect him, according to a synopsis.

The original film also starred Evan Rachel Wood, Camilla Belle and Margo Martindale.

"Practical Magic 2," based on Hoffman's 2021 novel "The Book of Magic," premieres in theaters Sept. 11.
