McDonald's brings back popular Changeables Happy Meal from the '80s

While some people are taking a stroll down memory lane in an attempt to revive 2016 culture, McDonald's has gone even deeper into the nostalgia archives to bring back one of its most iconic menu items from the 1980s: the Changeables Happy Meal.

On Tuesday, the Golden Arches officially added the iconic item to its menus for a limited time, a McDonald's representative told ABC News.

"The beloved toys that first stole fans' hearts in the late 80s and early 90s will return to restaurants for a limited time, giving kids and grownups alike the chance to get one of 16 Changeables that transform into classic McDonald's icons," they said.

Changeables, which are similar to Transformers toys, can switch between a McDonald's food item and a fun robot character.

The new lineup includes characters Cap Cap, Teef Rex, Fergon, FR-13S, Galla, Vash and Drinkobius-999.

McDonald's created new trading cards for each toy, complete with a fun fact and catchphrase, such as Galla, who "was once the apple on a teacher's desk" and looks like a bag of apple slices. Galla's catchphrase, according to McDonald's, is, "Galla load of these apples!"

The new Happy Meal is available for a limited time while supplies last.
