November's beaver moon 2025: When to see the full supermoon, what it means for your zodiac sign

WATCH: These zodiac signs are most compatible with Tauruses

As November's chill begins to settle in, tap into the energy of the second supermoon of the year, also known as the full beaver moon -- a moment to ground yourself and strengthen your spirit for the winter ahead.

Celebrity astrologer Kyle Thomas, who is known for his cosmic guidance among celebrities, businesses and online influencers, spoke to "Good Morning America" about the best ways to take advantage of this particular celestial event.

But first, let's break down the meaning of the beaver moon.

When can you see the full beaver moon?

The full moon will reach peak illumination in the United States on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, at 8:19 a.m. ET, according to the U.S. Naval Observatory's Astronomical Applications Department.

The beaver moon is also a supermoon

This November's full moon will also be a supermoon, according to NASA.

That means the moon is at the closest point to Earth in its orbit, making it appear larger and brighter than usual, NASA explains.

Why is it called the beaver moon?

The Old Farmer's Almanac, which began publishing full moon names in the 1930s, says the beaver moon got its name because this is the time of year when beavers take shelter in their lodges after gathering food for the winter.

During the fur trade era, it was also known as the season to trap beavers for their thick, winter-ready pelts.

Other traditional names for November's full moon include the digging moon, deer rutting moon, and frost (or freezing) moon, each reflecting how animals and nature approach the colder months.

According to the Royal Museums Greenwich, there is some debate about the beaver moon's exact name origin. Some say it comes from Native Americans setting traps during this time, while others believe it refers to the beavers' own busy dam-building activity before winter.

What zodiac sign is the beaver moon in November?

The zodiac sign for each full moon is determined by where the moon sits in the night sky in relation to the astrological signs. Because of this shifting alignment, each year's full moons carry different energies and themes, Thomas explained.

This year, the beaver moon rises in Taurus, an earth sign that, according to Thomas, "rules wealth, income, material possessions and the physical world in which we live."

Ruled by Venus, Taurus centers on what we value including our beliefs, priorities, and the worth we place on the things we have or desire.

"During these times, we can feel more sensual, crave beauty and luxury, and may be a bit more indulgent," he added. "Taurus is on the opposite polarity of Scorpio. Together, they exist on the axis of money, power and sex."

Rituals and manifestations to try during the beaver moon

Across many ancient cultures and faiths, people have long celebrated celestial cycles -- using the full moon as a time to reflect, release, and set new intentions.

Astrologers say the full moon's energy can be especially powerful for manifesting your dreams. Because this beaver moon falls in Taurus, an earth sign, Thomas recommends incorporating natural elements into your rituals.

"Utilizing plants, gemstones, soil and other natural things can work well to manifest what you seek," he said.

Since Taurus is also associated with wealth and abundance, Thomas suggested creating an altar focused on finances by using green candles.

"Taurus is ruled by Venus, so if you'd like to attract romance or increase love, use a pink candle," he explained. "Write your desires either on the candle or on a piece of paper and then burn the candle atop it, but make sure that you never leave a candle burning by itself unattended."
