Meet the man who's the new voice of Boston’s Logan airport

WATCH: The new voice of Boston airport revealed

Boston Logan International Airport has a new "voice" following a search that drew over 6,000 prospective applicants.

Christopher Donisi, an HVAC pipe fitter, will be the man behind the first voice travelers hear when they land in Beantown in the near future.

"It feels amazing. I am so thrilled and just honored to be able to represent my city. It is unreal," Donisi told "Good Morning America" in an interview Thursday.

The search for Logan's new voice attracted applicants from all walks of life and even Super Bowl winners Julian Edelman and Rob "Gronk" Gronkowski.

Donisi, who said he thinks Ben Affleck's Boston accent is one of the best, ended up in the running with the help of his mother.

"You gotta follow your dreams but you also gotta follow your mother's dreams. Very important," he said.

Donisi said he's looking forward to taking on his new side gig and bringing attention to what makes the Boston accent unique.

"It varies in different areas of the state. It's unique in that way because every neighborhood, you know, puts its own little sprinkle on it," he said.
